Christine Mariani was born and raised in Long Island, New York.
While growing up in New York, Christine first realized her
abilities at a vocalist singing with a Christian band. Christine
moved to Florida in 1991 and started performing at Tampa Bay’s
Show Palace studying vocal instruction under Deetta Rowe.
In 2000,
Christine joined two women’s barbershop harmony groups;
Cashmiere and the world renowned Sweet Adeline. In 2005, she
traveled to Detroit with the Sweet Adeline chapter, Toast of
Tampa, for their international singing competition, for which
the group earned 5th place.
For five
years, Christine was the lead vocalist for the BMQ Jazz Quartet,
performing in many Tampa Bay area venues, including Blue Heron,
Martini’s, the Pier at Clearwater Beach and La Mason in Dunedin,
Florida. Christine had the pleasure of performing at Station
Square park during the 2003 Clearwater Jazz Festival.
In 2004,
Christine joined the annual Jazz instruction camp, Jazz Vermont.
During her
first attendance at Jazz Vermont, Christine was offered a
scholarship to return the following year, from the groups
Director Byron Segal. Christine has been involved with Jazz
Vermont for four years running and the group has been an
integral part of her growth as a singer and performer. Jazz
Vermont is the inspiration for the song ‘Moonlight in Vermont’
on her debut CD ‘A Walk in the Park’, released in December 2006
with her Producer John Capo of Wavelength Music.
Christine is
currently performing at several Tampa Bay area venues with Swing
Shift leader Bob Raymond. Christine is a true performer with a
gift for delivering a song that is melodic and enchanting.
